Long time did not update this blog.
Just got hold of a new Buffalo router to replace my age old Netgear work horse.

Initially thought it going to be a breeze hooking it up.
Tear down the old router and connected the new one in as per the instruction set.

Mine being cable modem the router software should detect DHCP but it keep prompting for PPOE set up.

After awhile still did not get it go work, then realize that did not follow instruction carefully, must turn off all power, then connect up the cables, next turn on modem, wait 1 minute, turn on router, wait another minute and then turn on connected pc.

Finally type into browser 192.168.11.1 to do setup.

All wireless and LAN setup with Window XP Home no problem, the most difficult part was Window Vista, wireless connection could not be establised, problem with the new encryption protocol of WAP/WAP2, Window XP recognize it but not Vista, have to set to only WEP.

Don't like Vista - Hope Window 7 is easier.
